Total Recruitment is a group of companies providing recruitment and human resources solutions to their clients and candidates. Their services include temporary assignments (casuals), fixed term contracts and permanent placements.
Operating nationally under the brand names Bluestone Personnel, Company Solutions, Milsons People, Clements Recruitment, ABC Global Services, Tecsys IT Recruitment and National Employment Agencies, their growth has been achieved through a combination of organic development and through strategic acquisitions.
With offices in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia, they have over 100 staff supporting up to 2,800 temporary and contracted staff across their client locations each and every day.
Business Challenge:
The many locations and multiple strategic acquisitions resulted in a complex, mixed IT environment consisting of multiple technologies across the organisation. Additionally there was a requirement for each branch to access a centralized enterprise database, with seamless inter-office communication, and real-time access to shared files.

The foundation of any distributed organisation is the wide area network connecting the branches. First Focus deployed our business grade Private IP network links to connect each office, along with redundant links at each branch and a failover solution for reliability. 24 x 7 monitoring systems provide constant statistics and diagnosis information allowing us to ensure the entire network is working as it should.

Hosting and Server Co-location

Instead of placing expensive server infrastructure in each branch, the servers are housed in an enterprise data centre, where they are protected by multiple power sources, air conditioning, enterprise backup systems and security systems. Applications are published to each branch from the data centre via a cluster of load balanced terminal servers.

IT projects and Network Integration

As Total Recruitment continues to expand, additional branches are integrated with the overall network quickly and cost effectively. First Focus engineers perform data migrations and integration work to allow each branch to work under a single, integrated Information Architecture.
